The PetSafe In-Ground Fence™ System is an underground pet containment system that allows you to create a boundary that suits the shape of your yard. Simply bury the included boundary wire around the area where you want your dog to stay, and the transmitter sends a signal through the wire.

Your dog wears the lightweight, adjustable receiver collar. As they approach the boundary, the collar provides a warning tone. If your dog continues towards the boundary, the collar provides a static stimulation to discourage them from crossing it.

With proper training and consistent use, the system can help your dog learn where their boundaries are while giving them more freedom to explore and play.

Customise your dog's boundaries

Unlike a traditional fence, the PetSafe In-Ground Fence allows you to create a boundary that works around the shape of your property. You can also create keep-out areas around places such as gardens, pools and play equipment.

The standard system provides up to 1,335 square metres (approximately 1/3 acre) of coverage and can be expanded with additional boundary wire and flags. PetSafe states the system can be expanded up to 25 acres with additional wire and flags.

How does the PetSafe In-Ground Fence work?

The transmitter sends a radio signal through the buried boundary wire. When your dog's receiver collar detects the signal as they approach the boundary, it first gives a warning tone. If your dog continues towards the boundary, the collar provides a static stimulation.

Training is an essential part of using an in-ground fence. Your dog needs to learn where the boundary is and how to respond to the warning tone. PetSafe recommends following the included training process before allowing your dog to use the system without supervision.
