Containing live nitrifying bacteria (Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter), it helps establish the biological cycle in new aquariums by breaking down harmful ammonia and nitrite into less toxic nitrates.

This versatile gravel can be used as a primary substrate or mixed with existing substrate to boost biological activity.
